A 4-day stay on a Thai tropical island

Our Thailand, Koh Libong (Libong Island) extension is perfect for those looking for some quality beach time at the end of one of our Thai tours. The quiet and still relatively undeveloped island of Libong is situated on the unspoilt Andaman Sea coast of southern Thailand’s Trang province. On one side lie mangrove swamps which are home to the endangered dugong – very rarely seen elsewhere in Thailand – while on the west coast of the island are white sand beaches facing the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea.

Our recommendation for your stay on tranquil Koh Libong is the delightful, low-key but comfortable, Andalay Beach Resort facing the beach and ocean. There’s a fine beach-side bar and restaurant with plenty of fresh seafood plus several other eating options within walking distance if you fancy a change.

Other than beach-combing, exploring the island or a visit to the local fishing village, activities include canoe hire to explore isolated beaches and coves; hiking for views over the dugong reserve; island hopping and snorkelling tours through the nearby Marine Park to discover some of the archipelago’s stunning limestone karst scenery or even scuba diving on the area’s lively coral reefs. All of these can be arranged with reception during your stay and do not require advanced booking.

The price is per person based on bed and breakfast for two people sharing (for a single traveller it is £600) and is priced as if starting the extension at the end of the Mountains and Rainforests tour when your flight to Bangkok is already included. The price is for the Anda Deluxe room.  For a beach front room there is a supplement of £60 per night per room.
