Phu Quoc

This 4-day extension to Vietnam's spectacular Phu Quoc is available by a short return flight from Saigon or by boat from the Mekong Delta

Extend your Vietnam tour with a stay on lush, tropical Phu Quoc Island

The lush tropical island of Phu Quoc, lying between the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, is our choice for a beach extension to our existing Vietnam tours; Hanoi to Saigon and World Heritage Sites of Vietnam. The island is easily accessible, with its own airport offering several daily Saigon, (Ho Chi Minh City), plus Bangkok flights. Alternatively, speedboats service the short sea crossing from Rach Gia in the Mekong Delta while hopefully boat crossings from nearby Kep and Kampot on Cambodia’s south coast will also be available in the near future.

This island extension then is suitable for any tour ending in Saigon,  (Ho Chi Minh City), or in the case of our Mekong Delta tour, the extension would include a taxi transfer from Can Tho to Rach Gia and boat to Phu Quoc. With daily connections to Bangkok Airport, it’s also straightforward to add to any of our various Southeast Asia tours finishing in Bangkok as well.

Activities, other than beach-combing or checking out the pool-side cocktails, include; snorkelling trips, scuba diving, sea-kayaking, a visit to the in-house spa and of course exploring the island’s lush tropical interior on foot or bicycle plus, last but not least, sampling the renowned Vietnamese cuisine.

Our choice on the island is the charming, eco-minded Mango Bay Resort – small, low-key and finished in a rustic, local style yet offering well-appointed and comfortable accommodation. Our suggestion here is a 4-day, 3-night stay although any number of extra nights can be added should you so desire.

The published price is based upon 2 people sharing (either twin or double accommodation) while a supplement is available for single travellers and corresponding reductions for larger groups or families. Also note that the tour p[rice includes return flights from Saigon to Phu Quoc or, in the case of an overland transfer, taxi and boat from Can To and flight to Saigon.
