Kep, Kampot and Takeo

4-day tour including quaint colonial Kampot, the picturesque seaside town of Kep, Rabbit Island and the rarely-visited Angkor temples of Takeo Province

Discover Cambodia's less-visited parts

Seen the sunrise at Angkor Wat and Bayon’s mysterious faces, visited the tragic Killing Fields site, shopped in the Russian Market and had a sun-downer at the famous FCC?  Well here’s an opportunity to discover some lesser-known parts of the Kingdom with this fully-escorted, 4-day, 3-night tour of southern Cambodia’s Kep, Kampot and Takeo Provinces.

First off, we’ll discover the excellent Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Centre, run by Wildlife Alliance in conjunction with Free the Bears.  The forested Centre, lying just south of the capital Phnom Penh, is a refuge for numerous species of animals, both local and ‘exotic’, that have been either rescued from hunters, liberated from private zoos or that were destined for the wildlife trade.  A fascinating and very worthwhile visit.

We’ll also include the spectacular, yet rarely visited, Angkor-period temples of 11th-century, mountain-top, Phnom Chisor and the well-preserved 12th-century Ta Prom Temple; take a boat trip to unspoilt Koh Tonsai, better known to visitors as Rabbit Island’, visit one of Kampot’s world-famous pepper plantations and check out the town’s well-preserved stock of old French period architecture. Last, but certainly not least, you can sample the region’s most famous culinary offering – superb Kep crab in Kampot pepper sauce at one of the local stilt cafes in the tiny coastal town’s picturesque Crab Market.

This 4-day extension is suitable for any Cambodia tour finishing in the capital Phnom Penh. An extra night’s accommodation in the capital can be arranged before and or after this mini-tour if required or alternatively, we can drop you directly at Phnom Penh’s Pochentong International Airport on our return from Kep should it be more convenient.

The price is a per person rate based on two sharing while for one person this Kep, Kampot and Takeo extension is £795. For more than 2 persons, please ask us for rates.
