Ngwe Saung Beach
A superb beach stay on Burma's Bay of Bengal coast
Myanmar, (Burma), beach extension
Head through the picturesque Irrawaddy Delta to Burma’s Bay of Bengal Coast for this superb beach stay at Ngwe Saung Beach, (Meaning ‘Silver Beach’ in Burmese). Some 9 kms of perfect white, (or silver), sand broken up by scenic rocky headlands make this one of Burma’s prime, budding, beach resorts. This awesome spot is going to be huge and we doubt we’ll still be offering it 5 years time so check it out now whilst everything’s still nice and low key and the beach and locals still relatively ‘unspoilt’!
A lovely beach-side resort with comfortable wooden chalets, huge pool, sunset beach bar, excellent restaurant serving local and Western dishes and service that we found second to none! If that’s not enough you can explore the area, perhaps check-out the local fishing village or join a boat trip out to some uninhabited offshore islands.
The starting and finishing point is Yangon – either at the International Airport or any of the city’s hotels. Extra nights’ accommodation in Yangon are also available on request – either before or after your beach stay, or we can arrange a drop-off at any other hotel if you’ve booked accommodation yourself. Transfer time by road is approximately 4 to 5 hours by private taxi depending upon traffic!
This Ngwe Saung beach extension is suitable for any of our Burma (Myanmar) tours, all of which finish in Yangon, (Rangoon).
Please note that our rates are based upon 2 people sharing (either twin or double accommodation) while a single person supplement is on offer for single travellers. (Correspondingly reductions are also available for larger groups.)
