Extend your Malaysia small group tour with a stay at a beach resort on the delightful Malaysian tropical island of Langkawi. Langkawi Island is located off the northwest coast of the peninsula close to Penang – just over the border from southern Thailand – and lies in the Andaman Sea at the northern entrance to the Straits of Malacca.

Our choice of accommodation on the island, is the well-appointed, well located, but low-key Frangipani Langkawi Resort and Spa. Genuine eco-friendly and responsible tourism practices complement garden chalets at a secluded beach-side location which still offers easy access to the nearby town for shopping and restaurants.

Aside from the resort’s spa, pool and spectacular unspoilt beach, the large island offers a wide range of varied activities including boat trips through the surrounding archipelago, hiking or bird-watching tours into the jungle-clad interior or extensive mangroves, plus the chance to discover traditional livelihoods and handicrafts at local villages.

Ideal for those seeking some relaxing beach time or for more active visitors wishing to explore a particularly scenic part of Malaysia.

Our standard extension is 4 days and 3 nights though of course, additional nights are available. Access at the end of one of our Malaysia tours would generally be by air from Kuala Lumpur. Langkawi has an international airport so flights from other destinations are available.

Naturally, rates vary according to room category and the time of year and the price shown on the right is a starting price for 2 people sharing a twin/double room deluxe room. Prices rise by approximately £20 per night per person in July and August and from 15 December to 15 March. If you are travelling alone the cost of the extension is £515 plus supplements as above. Please note flights to and from Langkawi are not included in the extension but can be added if you wish to do so.
