Malaysian beach extension to Langkawi Island
Extend your tour at a delightful, secluded, beachside eco-resort
Extend your Malaysia tour with a stay at a beach resort on the delightful Malaysian tropical island of Langkawi. Langkawi Island is located off the northwest coast of the peninsula close to Penang as well as southern Thailand and lies in the Andaman Sea at the northern entrance to the Straits of Malacca.
Our accommodation recommendation on the isle is the well-appointed but low-key Frangipani Langkawi. Genuine eco-friendly and responsible tourism practices complement garden chalets at a secluded beach-side location which still offers easy access to the town, shopping and restaurants.
Aside from the resort’s spa and pool facilities and spectacular unspoilt beach the rest of the large island offers a wide range of varied activities including boat trips through the surrounding archipelago, hiking or bird-watching tours into the jungle-clad interior or extensive mangroves plus the chance to discover traditional livelihoods and handicrafts at local villages.
Ideal then for those seeking just some relaxing beach time or for more active visitors wishing to explore a particularly scenic part of Malaysia plus, we reckon an absolutely perfect spot for a family holiday.
Our standard extension is 4 days and 3 nights though of course, additional nights are available. Access at the end of one of our Malaysia tours would generally be by ferry from Penang though with an international airport on the island and regular flights to and from both KL and Singapore, Langkawi is easily reached from any regional or indeed long-distance destination.
The price shown on the right is a starting price for 2 people sharing a twin/double room. Prices rise on various dates, for 2019 these are:- Low season, generally July, August, September and 9 October to 20 December (additional £35 per room per night), Shoulder season, generally late June, last weekend in August, 12-31 January and 12-28 February (additional £58 per room per night), Peak season 1, 19-20 June, 1-8 October and 8-11 January (additional £90 per room per night), Peak season 2 21 December – 7 January (additional £110 per room per night), Super peak season 14-18 June (additional £155 per room per night). The hotel is unavailable to book 1-11 February.
