Vietnam visa changes and details

Extension of the visa on line, or e-visa system to include Australia, Canada and New Zealand

6 more countries including Australia, Canada and New Zealand have now been added to the list of nationalities eligible for the Vietnam visa online scheme.  Rates are $25 for a single entry, 30-day visa with processing time set at 3 working days. Passport holders of 40 countries including the UK and Ireland are all already eligible for such e-visas and you can check the full list as well as make applications at this Vietnam Immigration link.

Note this is different to the visa on arrival facility which is only available on entry at one of Vietnam’s international airports; Tan Son Nhut (Saigon), Noi Bai (Hanoi), Da Nang and Cam Ranh (Nha Trang) with Phu Quoc shortly to join the list.

The 15-day visa waiver system is also still in place, (check the aforementioned link again for eligible nationalities). All in all, it’s never been so easy or cheap to obtain a Vietnamese tourist visa and along with Vietnam Airline’s new direct London Heathrow to Saigon, (Ho Chi Minh City) and Hanoi flights we’d say, ‘what are you waiting for?”
