Firstly we need to point out that this, and any other of our first choice accommodation options, are always subject to availability and are never guaranteed! In Siem Reap and all other destinations we do have satisfactory alternatives and indeed in several spots we rotate the choices anyway. Sometimes depending upon the group composition, (certain hotels are more family orientated for example), sometimes down to individual tour-leaders’ preferences and occasionally just to keep in all our suppliers’ good books!
We are somewhat spoilt for choice in Cambodia’s Siem Reap since the draw of Angkor Wat has seen a large increase in the hotel stock over recent years but current faves are the Casa Angkor Hotel and featured in this post, the Angkoriana Hotel.
The great pool area is a very welcome feature in Siem Reap’s often searing heat, particularly since our temple itineraries provide for early mornings, late afternoons and mid-day breaks. (You’re better off sitting by the pool with a long cool one at noon than wandering around Angkor!)
There’s even a poolside spa/massage if you don’t fancy a dip – or a along cool one either!
Last but not least is their excellent and very reasonably priced bar and restaurant serving a selection of ‘Western’ and Khmer dishes as well as beers, wines and cocktails.
Availability permitting Angkoriana is featured on all our Cambodia tours passing through Siem Reap: Cambodia Overland, Beyond Angkor, Saigon to Phnom Penh, Ruined Cities & Tropical islands, Images of Cambodia and Indochina Adventure.
