Finding your next adventure...

All Points East news – 16th December

Well apologies to all our readers, (or at least both of them – my wife and my mum – although I suspect the former only reads it if I post one of her photos), for the lack of posts over the last week – a lot of very active days and busy evenings on my recent Beyond Angkor tour is my excuse! (Which reminds me of an old joke; – a Southampton FC supporter rings up their ticket office………. “excuse me but what time does today’s Southampton game start?”  “.well that depends – what time can you make it?”)

Anyway an excellent tour with good company completed a round trip of Cambodia taking in; Phnom Penh, Kompong Tom, Siem Reap, Battambang, Kompong Chnang and finishing up in Kep. (Which is an excuse to add another Kep sunset pic!)

A few days calm now before a bunch of Xmas tours kick off: – an Images of Cambodia, photographic tour on Boxing Day, a Thailand,  Reefs and Rainforests trip lead by Marc on the 27th, a tailor-made family tour of Thailand and Cambodia with Oh starting on Xmas day itself and 2 French groups lead by Jean-Daniel and new recruit Pascal Rimpault. Pascal hails from near Angers in France and whilst an experienced ‘accompagnateur‘, is new to All Points East, so welcome aboard! (Shame he doesn’t come from neighbouring Tours – which would have been funny!!). Good to see that after a quiet 2010 we’re actually having to take on new tour-leaders!!! So, busy, but I have to confess I’ve managed to wangle a quite Xmas at home for myself – ha!!

Anyway a peak at the local dailies reveals an odd half crab/half prawn creature caught by Malaysian fisherman Nordin Ahmad – see here – looks like a hairy langoustine to me,  and a ‘killer elephant‘ sedated in Cambodia’s Kompong Speu Province. Failed to find anything worth writing home about in the Bangkok Post so here’s their crossword instead, (and apologies for the accompanying muzak!)
