Thailand, Lampang – Lanna culture (2 days)

Lampang – not usually on visitors’ itineraries for North Thailand – we reckon it should be. One of the oldest settlements in the region, dating back over 1,500 years to the Mon, Dvaravati, period this laid back town, a short ride south of Chiang Mai, is considered the centre of the old Lanna culture and possesses some of the most spectacular temples of northern Thailand.

Our 2 day excursion from Chiang Mai takes in the picturesque Lanna temples and a visit to the old town of Lampang by traditional pony and trap as well as visits to the province’s famous Elephant Conservation Centre and Elephant Hospital.
